It's my 3rd time running for the Annual Nike 10km last weekend! But for Adrian and Yeening, it is their 2nd/1st. Why did i join the run? Because.........
It's my 3rd time running for the Annual Nike 10km last weekend! But for Adrian and Yeening, it is their 2nd/1st. Why did i join the run? Because.........
-It was an annual run.-
-The sense of satisfaction after completing it.-
-It keeps me fit!-
-Being able to run with many other runners is quite challenging and fun!-

Some tips preparing for a marathon:
1. Give yourself 10 weeks to prepare for it.
2. Go easy on training.
3. Train in a group.
Studies shown that running in a group show up more consistent and can go further compared to running alone.
4. Warm up pre-race
About 10-15 minutes before race, walk briskly for 4 minutes. It help you to transit from a stop to a go more easily.
5. Eat a banana 15 minutes before your run.
To give yourself more energy!
6. Have plenty of rest the day before!
7. Hydrate yourself.
Very important! Prevent yourself of having a heatstroke!

This year, for the first time in Nike Run's history in this country, they allow us to choose and define your own running experience. See below.
The first flag off was 7.15am at the F1 Pit Building.

So, I collected my finisher's tee and my bottle at the end point.
(They gave us 100plus, a banana and water too!)

Remember not to drop dead straight after a Marathon.
Here are some post marathon tips!
1. Just keep walking
Imagine you just ran 10km, it is still in a marathon mode. Please remember it is in need of a transitionary phase.
2. Eat and drink lots of water!
Eat light snacks and save the big meal for later when your appetite comes back.
3. Shower with cold water
It increases the speed of healing
4. Give yourself a break
It been through a though 10km on the road so the best way to recover is to schedule a light massage and so some light walking.
