Internal beauty is the beauty of your personality and the kindness in your heart. Have you ever heard of the phrase, "looks attracts but character keeps"? Well, internal beauty is equally as important as external beauty.
So you might be asking, what is inner beauty? These are the top characteristics of a beautiful person.
1. Someone who loves or respects him/herself
Yes, there are many people around these days who look really good, but have you ever
seen how they act or behave? Even if you look really good but you act like a slut, you're just an atrocious girl with a nice face. So if you so happen to fall into this category, please go and reflect on your actions and see that you're not being cool with swag or whatever, but you're actually degrading yourself, think about how your parents would feel if they saw you acting like that.
2. Confident but not cocky
I'm sure everyone has a friend or two that is really rich and/or good looking and he/she always attracts the opposite gender while you don't really do as well. And I'm sure that we all have a friend that is the latter while he/she is really cocky at the same time. Like he would flaunt his money and think that he's the king and everyone should serve him because he is closer to perfect than you. However, don't feel demoralised by this kind of people because people like that never finds true friends and even if they do, their relationships won't last because no one likes a cocky person am I right? Therefore, it is really important not to overdo it, I mean, being confident is really important but overdoing it makes you look like an idiot. All that showing off will get them robbed or killed one day. So if you happen to fall into this category, please also reflect on your actions and change for the better, don't wait till you lose everyone till you realise your mistakes.
3. Generous Heart
Having a generous heart doesn't necessarily mean being generous in terms of money. I'm sure we all want someone who can love us unconditionally, and also to care and share. Even simple things such as sacrificing time for someone shows the generosity in you. Sometimes people say they’re generous just because they’re giving a few hundred dollars to a local charity. I think generosity means much more than that, much more than a number, I think it means a self-less willingness to give and to service humankind.
4. Supportive and Inspirational
This is really important, the people that you're with should always help you become a better version of yourself, but if that person is constantly bringing you down, just forget it because it is never going to take you anywhere. I used to have an ex-girlfriend that is really pretty, however, she was never supportive in whatever I did, be it my studies, going to the gym or even me picking up some skills to improve myself, and I can tell you that it really sucked because instead of encouraging me, she was demoralising me. If you are one of those people who demoralises your friends because you want to gain from it, then you are not even worthy of being a friend, you should just find some other friends that demoralises each other and have fun doing that everyday. Friends should support one another, and be supportive enough to also advise them right from wrong.
5. Considerate and Kind
These characteristics are in fact, one of the first things you think of when you think of inner beauty. Someone who takes into account how others are feeling and puts themselves in their shoes is truly kind and considerate. Simple things like being careful about how your words might make someone else feel, or putting yourself in someone else's shoes to understand their situation shows your concern for people. And everybody loves considerate people right?!
6. Be genuine and real
BE YOURSELF, PERIOD. Nobody is perfect, however something that can help you get closer to that is to be yourself, because being yourself is better than trying to be someone that you're not, or someone you know you should be. You can't be someone else because you're not that person, be true to yourself and celebrate your individuality because this is what makes you SPECIAL.
7. Loyalty to friends and lovers
To me, loyalty is one of the most important of these values. I'm sure all of you have friend that has been cheated on before, or you may have even experienced it yourself. Nobody wants to be with a cheater, so you shouldn't be one as well. It’s not only love though, because you should be loyal to your friends as well. That means standing up for them when someone is bashing them up, sticking to your values and morals and being genuine enough not to backstab your way through life because we all know what goes around, comes around.
8. Honest and True
Nobody like a liar as well too right? Everyone wants someone who tells us the truth despite the consequences that would happen. To be honest and truthful is a beautiful thing, this is very important for building trust. Being truthful also helps free our lives from guilt and leading an honest life would make us happier. We should all admit for our wrongdoings to help us learn from our mistakes and become a better person.
9. Visionary and Intelligent
Looking good is one thing, but being intelligent is better. Intelligence, brains and wits is what adds substance to our beauty. Can you imagine if you look really good but you're really dumb like this girl?
You don't have to be the smartest person or anything but what matters is that you are well cultured, knowledgeable. It is also about being curious about the world and seeking knowledge to know more about your surroundings. Knowledge is what makes you interesting and engaging.
10. Passionate and Strong
A beautiful person is a person that passionate about something, has a dream or a goal in life and will do the work to make it happen. He/she should be strong enough to admit that there is a challenge ahead, but is strong enough to overcome it. A beautiful person is also ambitious, strong, and well focused. Wants to get somewhere in life and I think that’s important.
