As we know that Philippines was hit by the Supertyphoon Haiyan last week which left 10,000 over people dead in just a single city. It is devastating to know that people of the same continent as us was being attacked by such a monstrous disaster leaving them homeless, losing their loved ones in this disaster, and also the kind of mental hurt that is inflicted on them.
Through this disaster, it sort of restore my faith for humanity. I was really touched to see how Singaporeans displaying unity and coming together to help the victims in Philippines. This particular post that I came across on Facebook really touched me.

Darius Lim is a Singaporean that is currently studying in UK right now. In order to help the Filipinos to rebuild their homeland he is pledging to donate $1 for every likes he received on his post. It's heartwarming to see how Singaporeans are willing to help others in time of crisis.
Apart from all the monetary donations, there are many Singaporeans donating their old clothes, blankets and pillows to help those that have lost their home as well as their personal belongings. This is one example of how my classmate, Maya shared with the class on how we can do our part to help the victims of this monstrous disaster!
What really touched me was how the Singapore Red Cross Team immediately flew off to Philippines to help to distribute relief supplies to the victim.
It is nice to see people around us giving their best and 101% help to those who are in need right now. I also hope that most of us can do our part through monetary donation or even donating out their old clothes and all to aid the victim to overcome this obstacles!
Cheers.
